This chapel near Ervik, Norway has a Russian style steeple in honor of the Russian prisoners of war who were murdered by German soldiers during the second world war. On the right is a field full of gravestones and a commemorative prayer room.
I have mostly grown up without living biological grandfathers. From a very young age this man was a grandfather of sorts to me. He taught me about mountains, plants, the sea and how to whittle wooden whistles. I love him deeply. Many years ago, he and his wife Bodil returned to Norway and it is with great gladness of heart that I am able to see them both again after so many years. Today after getting a tour of his house by the fjord (mostly whited out in this shot) I got to sit with Ragnar for several hours and hear wonderful stories. My heart is full tonight.
Today I walked around oldtown Fredrikstad. This photo was created by taking a panoramic photo in the middle of a grass field. The surroundings include: water, a park, and old buildings. #vscocam #tinyplanet #360 #norway #green (at Fredrikstad)
Enjoying Norway so far. Today I got to go on a short hike through a forest in Engelsviken. Walked past some old Viking graves and ended on a lookout view of the water. #vscocam #norway #water #hike #view #travel (at Engelsviken)
